Jack Morton Worldwide is the leading experiential brand communications agency in the world showcasing with two of the world's most spectacular events - the opening and closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. In celebration of these two successful events, Navyblue was commissioned to create a limited edition book which could be shared with clients, staff, friends and prospects alike.
The creative brief stemmed from the same key driver for the ceremonies - the aim to reflect 'a slice of (Manchester) life projected on a thrilling scale: ordinary people doing extraordinary things in a city that's never shy about speaking for itself'.
The book - 'opening and closing' - is a visual celebration of these two phenomenal events. Recording the names of every single volunteer as well as communicating the scale of the task in hand, weeks were spent drawing together visual material ranging from stadium plans and newspaper clippings to some of the volunteers own photographs.
The archive of material was pivotal to doing the ceremonies justice and enabling the concept for the book to be delivered with impact.
